A traffic stop Friday in Aylmer has resulted in multiple charges for a 41-year-old Vienna man.
The male was initially pulled over after an officer clocked the vehicle traveling 92km/hr down Talbot Street, a 50km/hr zone.
During the stop, police learned that the driver was required to have an ignition interlock system in the vehicle and did not. In addition, a young child present in the vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt.
As a result, the 41-year-old has been charged with, operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code, drive motor vehicle – preform stunt (excessive speed), and drive while child passenger not properly secured under the Highway Traffic Act.
The vehicle was impounded for 45 days and the man will appear in St. Thomas Court next month.
