Shortly after 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aylmer Police responded to a call from EMS at McGregor Public School, regarding a man who was heavily intoxicated and consuming alcohol on the premises.
Upon arrival, officers attempted to identify the male and assess his condition, but he refused to cooperate.
While being arrested for public intoxication, the male assaulted one of the officers by pushing them to the ground and fled the scene on foot. Police pursued and apprehended the male, who continued to resist arrest until he was subdued and handcuffed.
The 32 year old Aylmer resident now faces charges of public intoxication under the Liquor Licence and Control Act and resisting arrest under the Criminal Code, and is scheduled to appear in a St Thomas Court next month.
