A celebration at a Central Elgin farm went terribly wrong Sunday night.
Elgin OPP and firefighters from Central Elgin, Southwold and Malahide responded to a barn fire on Southdale Line, just east of St. Thomas, around 11 p.m.

According to Elgin OPP, during a fireworks display one of them tipped over and launched into a nearby haybarn and set it ablaze.
Damages are estimated to be approximately $1,000,000 in buildings, farm implements, and other equipment.
No injuries were reported and no animals were involved in the fire.
