The Ontario Provincial Police know you’ve heard this before, but the messaging remains necessary because incidents keep happening: Speeding and impaired driving kills.
Sergeant Kerry Schmidt laid out the numbers seen on their patrolled roadways in 2023.
Although there’s been a dip in incidents on patrolled roads in the last two weeks compared to the same time frame last year, Schmidt says the overall trend remains on the rise.
Schmidt also said there’s been 257 deaths from collisions on roads, trails, and waterways this year.
