As local students head back to the classroom next week, don’t be surprised by an increased police presence in school zones.
The St. Thomas Police are among area forces putting a focus on back to school and educating both motorists and pedestrians on how they should behave.
That was Samantha Wakefield, Corporate Communications Coordinator with the STPS, who adds it’s an important reminder after a long summer with very little traffic in school zones.
The St. Thomas Police ask the motoring public to be extra vigilant during their morning commute as many little feet will be occupying streets and sidewalks beginning next week.
Wakefield says she knows it has to be a joint effort and provides some important safety tips for students as well.
By taking just a few minutes to review and share these tips, you can help make sure area students have a safe school year.
