We are all familiar with the annoyance factor associated with mosquitos.
You have no doubt experienced that sitting outside on a warm summer evening.
But annoying enough to shut down an entire outdoor event?
You bet, as the residents of Rodney found out. Tonight’s Harmony and Hops Festival to kick off the Rodney Fair has been postponed, explains Marsha Knapp, one of the organizers.
myFM asked Knapp just how bad it is in West Elgin.
The last thing residents of West Elgin need to hear right now is another heavy rainfall warning.
They’ve received so much rain the municipality has literally become a massive mosquito breeding ground.
She paints a picture of just how much rain has fallen this summer.
Knapp assures the Harmony and Hops Festival will be rescheduled and all other fair events will go as planned over the weekend.
The fun – minus the mosquitos – kicks off at 7 this evening inside the Community Centre for the opening ceremonies.
