Jurors at the trial of a man accused of running down five members of a Muslim family with his truck in London have heard from a detective who questioned the accused.
Detective Micah Bourdeau says Nathaniel Veltman’s demeanour changed over time at the police station where he was held.
He told jurors that Veltman became quieter and more subdued during his second interview, about 13-hours after his arrest — compared to his first interview when he was more talkative.
Veltman is charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder for deliberately hitting five members of the Afzaal family with his truck while they were out for a walk in London.
He has pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder.
