St. Thomas Police are once again warning the commuity after a city resident fell victim to a crypto currency scam through the ‘What’s Up’ App.
Police say the victim responded to a work from home recruitment style advertisement and was provided with what they thought was the proper training.
Then, over the course of several days and transaction requests, the victim realized they had been scammed, but not before an approximately $14,000 loss.
Police do continue to investigate.
