If you’ve ever wanted the opportunity to get up close and personal with some cows, while learning the farm to table operation of a local creamery, an upcoming open house will do just that.
Mistyglen Creamery is Moooovin into Harvest and they’re inviting the community to come out to a fun and informational event this Sunday at their farm in Belmont. (47008 Yorke Line)
myFM had the chance to speak with Owner Kris Pettit who says following a great turn out of roughly 2000 attendees to their first event in June, they decided to welcome the community back for another big Open House.
Pettit notes they have a number of events planned to keep everyone entertained from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., including a food truck and craft beer area.
If an effort to show off the cows as much as possible, a dairy 4-H demonstration has also been planned. Pettit says those interested in seeing the show will want to get to the farm just after the noon hour.
And those who have been out to Yorke Line recently may have noticed the “Umiland Corn Maze” set up. Pettit notes they’ve teamed up with them this year to give attendees another fun and unique experience.
Pettit adds that a small admission fee will be in place, $5 per person or $20 per car load. She explains how some of the proceeds will be utilized.
It is worth noting that the $5 entry fee does not include the corn maze, as it is run by a separate business.
