It’s been a vital Christmas tradition in our community for more than 4 decades now.
And on Thursday surrounded by partner groups and volunteers, Christmas Care launched its 2023 campaign at Memorial Arena in St. Thomas.
Since 1980, they’ve been assisting lower-income individuals and families with food and gift hampers to help make Christmas Day complete.
Richard Auckland, 2023 Christmas Care President notes that still rings true today, with more being added to the hampers as the need grows.
And although it has been in operation for more than 40 years, there is no indication the need for Christmas Care is diminishing. St. Thomas Mayor Joe Preston made that observation during the launch of this year’s campaign, while thanking the team at Christmas Care for all they do.
As Christmas Care prepares for registration, which is set to open Monday, November 6th at 10 a.m., Auckland shares details for those wishing to support them this year.
Auckland also shared where these much needed donations can be dropped off.
Such as years past, donations can also be dropped off directly at the Memorial Arena during registration hours.
Those looking to give back monetarily can also do so in person at the Memorial Arena, via mail or even online.
Auckland adds that for anyone unsure about the process or for those such as seniors who may need further assistance with registration, to please reach out.
