This Halloween, the Student Council at St. Joseph’s High School was hard at work on delivering their Halloween Countdown to the student body from Oct. 25th to Oct. 31st.
Through many hours of planning and preparation, the Student Council managed to pull off a truly impressive array of events the whole school could enjoy.
The first of these events were Hallowgrams sales and the beginning of a spooktastic Halloween-themed door decorating contest.
Hallowgrams were the council’s take on candy grams but with added flavour of Halloween’s sweet surprises. They were available to purchase for the first three days of the countdown and delivered on Halloween to many happy students.
For the door decorating contest, each homeroom class was challenged to make the most creative and freaky door.
On the second day of the countdown, a Halloween themed Kahoot was played during all three lunches to test the knowledge of St. Joe’s students on the history behind Halloween.
The third day saw the Rams watching The Ghost of Suite 613 from The Suite Life of Zach and Cody on all three lunches.
For the second last day of the countdown on the 30th, Rams brought in hauntingly well decorated cakes for a cake raffle held through the lunches and a judging from selected teachers.
Rams also brought in some carved pumpkins which the student body voted on for which one was most spooktacular.
Finally, on October 31st, students wore their costumes to school to demonstrate their spirit for the day. Students entered a costume contest where everyone had the opportunity to choose their favourite.
The Halloween countdown succeeded in bringing spirit and spirits to the halls of St. Joe’s for the Halloween season and making sure every student had an opportunity to participate in their school community.
