It was the battle of Ontario in the Professional Women’s Hockey League Tuesday with Toronto taking on Ottawa in the nation’s capital.
It was also an opportunity for St. Thomas residents to watch two of their own go head to head- and the girls made it a good one!
Following a quick goal by Ottawa’s Emily Clark, Brittany Howard scored the first goal of her PWHL career, 11:08 into the first period for Toronto.
That performance earned her the game’s 3rd star and Toronto’s player of game title.
Lexie Adzija also registered a goal last night, scoring a shorthanded empty-netter to lockdown a 3-1 Ottawa win.
The late period goal kept Adzija’s streak going, who currently has a point in every game played so far.
