National Non-Smoking Week is underway across Canada and health experts are weighing in on some of the myths associated with quit-attempts.
Public Health Nurse and Certified Tobacco Educator Debbie McIntyre says a common myth out there is that Nicotine Replacement Therapy, like the patch, or gum, doesn’t work.
Adding that another one they hear is that Nicotine Replace Therapy products can’t be used together.
She also says that there are many programs in place to help you quit.
All you have to do is contact your doctor or nurse practitioner to get started.
If you don’t have one, call the health unit or click here to learn more.
