Tributes were pouring in late last week and over the weekend as people remember Brian Mulroney who died Thursday at the age of 84.
In 1984 he led the Progressive Conservative party to a landslide victory in the federal election.
The year previous, Elgin-Middlesex-London MPP Rob Flack met Mulroney in Ottawa as a party youth delegate.
Flack remembers him for doing “bold, big things.”
A family spokesman says Mulroney died surrounded by his family in a Palm Beach hospital, where he had been admitted after a recent fall.
Prime Minster Justin Trudeau has confirmed there will be a full state funeral for Mulroney.
Trudeau says the government is working with the Mulroney family closely so that all of their wishes are respected.
Flack positioned Mulroney as this country’s greenest Prime Minister.
Flack said he admired Mulroney for his bold initiatives.
And Mulroney’s ability to communicate to people.
