The YWCA St.Thomas-Elgin is currently recruiting Board of Directors members for their upcoming term who are passionate about making a difference in their community.
You can be a part of change right here in Elgin County notes Melissa Kempf, Communications Manager with YWCA, as they look to achieve their vision of an equitable society where women and families thrive.
Those wishing to join the board, would do so on a 2-year term starting in June 2024. Kempf says in addition to the above criteria, they’re looking for individuals with a goal of bettering the community they live in.
She adds the complete breakdown of the role can be found under the volunteer tab on the YWCA website.
Volunteer Board Directors can realistically expect to spend about 5-7 hours a month fulfilling their commitment. 4 hours for meetings, and an additional 1-3 hours reviewing documents, attending trainings or events, and completing committee work. Additional involvement is the decision of each board member.
For those interested, Kempf also broke down what the application process will look like.
The deadline to apply will be April 22nd.
