A newcomer to St. Thomas celebrated his new hometown in warm fashion Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services were called out to a hydro pole on St. Catharine Street that had been intentionally set on fire.
It was determined the 42-year-old man was the suspect and he was arrested and charged with arson.
Further investigation revealed the newcomer was wanted by Perth OPP and he was charged on that warrant.
Both charges will be dealt with at a future date.
