Following an amazing turnout during their inaugural year, the St. Thomas Fire Department is back with its “Hot Summer Nights” pop-up events.
Throughout the summer months, our local fire department will be randomly choosing a park or parkette around St. Thomas to show up to, and spray the crowd of people looking to cool off.
Here’s Chief Fire Prevention Officer Kim Destun who explains further.
And those treats will be courtesy of Victim Services Elgin, who have jumped on board to join the fun!
Hot Summer Nights are not pre-scheduled and will all depend on crew availability, because as we know- fire calls can happen without a moments notice.
Dustun notes that details including time and location will be shared directly to their social media the day of!
During each pop-up, members of the fire department will also be on hand to share important fire safety tips and answer any questions residents may have.
The “Hot Summer Nights” events are free and open to those young and old, so don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy a splash of excitement with our local heroes.
