You drive your kids all over the place…why not add a turtle to the mix?
The Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre could really use the help of drivers right across the province, willing to transport injured turtles to their facility.
They’re referred to as “Turtle Taxi Drivers,” and are vital for the centers’ success notes Education Coordinator, Lisa Browning.
People who find injured turtles can’t always get them to Peterborough for care, so drivers who can help are asked to email volunteer@ontarioturtle.ca to get more information.
And it’s a pretty easy transfer process adds Browning.
The Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre cares for a few thousand turtles at any given time.
Interested drivers across St. Thomas-Elgin can also visit the Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre website to learn more.
