The City of St. Thomas is holding an Open House that will give residents the opportunity to discuss the latest plans for the “Positioned For Growth” project. The City of St. Thomas has a projected 20-year residential forecast of 50,600 people by 2041 that will require roughly 76 hectares of residential land to accommodate the projected growth.
4 different areas in the City’s west end are being proposed to provide the area needed for the growth. In addition to the planning study, the City will also be conducting engineering studies as well as studies for a new fire station location so that all areas of the City could be serviced.
The hope of the Open House is to give people a chance to have their questions answered as well as gather feedback. People will have the opportunity to talk with the Project Steering Committee and learn more about the preliminary preferred growth areas.
The open house will be taking place on Monday, July 8th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the St. Thomas Public Library.
