A 23-year-old St. Thomas resident died Friday evening in a single-vehicle mishap in Central Elgin.
Just before 7 p.m., emergency personnel were called out to a collision on Roberts Line near Centennial Road. A vehicle had left the roadway and struck a tree.
The lone occupant was extricated from the vehicle but later died in hospital.
The identity of the deceased individual is not being released out of respect for the family’s privacy.
