In beach water testing undertaken this week, Southwestern Public Health is advising of high levels of bacteria at Port Bruce, Port Glasgow, Port Stanley Erie Rest, Port Stanley Little Beach and Springwater Conservation Area.
The status at each beach has been switched to red, meaning high levels of bacteria in the water may pose a health risk and is it not safe to swim at this time.
The other beaches across Elgin county are reporting safe levels of bacteria.
Weekly beach water quality updates are available on the health unit’s website and also 24/7 by dialing 2-1-1, Ontario’s free information and referral service.
