A West Lorne resident has been hit with numerous charges following a two-vehicle collision Thursday afternoon on Hwy. 402.
Middlesex OPP responded to the incident in the eastbound lanes at the Col. Talbot Road exit just after 5 p.m. where a vehicle had been struck from behind.
The driver of the second vehicle lost control and ended up in the ditch. They fled the scene but were apprehended by police and taken to hospital as a precaution.
The other driver was not injured.
OPP determined the licence plates on the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Elgin county.
Forty-nine year-old Dana Heard faces the following charges:
· Dangerous operation
· Failure to stop after accident
· Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada
· Carrying concealed weapon
· Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
· Failure to comply with undertaking
· Driving while under suspension
· Fail to remain
· Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner
· Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
