I’m sure you’ve seen them all around St. Thomas.
The Railway City Little Free Libraries, containing books that have been donated by members of the community.
It’s a pretty simple process, really. If you see a book you like- take it.
Have some old reads you want to pass along? Leave your books behind for someone else to cherish.
And St. Thomas resident Brianne Bennett has become quite familiar with the local program, taking it upon herself to ensure that the youngest members of our community have something available to them.
Inspired by her daughter’s love of reading, Bennett explains how the local Facebook group “Ella Bella’s Book Wagon,” came to be.
Bennett and her daughter Ella began this undertaking just last summer and have already received so much support from their followers.
She explains how a simple need that she saw in the community, has turned into something much bigger.
In terms of where most of the donations come from, Bennett says it varies.
Adding that members of the Facebook Group even get an inside scoop of new books that have been received.
Bennett notes that if you have any children’s books that you’re looking clear out, the best thing to do is to join the group!
To stay in the know- you can join the Ella Bella’s Book Wagon group here.
