A former St. Thomas Vice-Principal will soon have a disciplinary hearing in regards to an alleged inappropriate personal relationship with a student. Michael George Dennis will go before the Discipline Committee of the Ontario College of Teachers beginning on November 14, 2019 where it will be determined if the allegations agaisnt him are true.
Dennis who was terminated from his position by the Thames Valley District School Board in 2017 was said to be engaging in an inappropriate personal relationship that included inappropriate communication through text message, Facebook, and Snapchat. It is also said that Dennis invited the student for an overnight stay with his family, gave the student money, clothes, and other gifts, and also provided his name as the students emergency contact name with the school.
The hearing will take place in Toronto at the Ontario College of Teachers office and will continue on November 15th, December 9th and 10th if nessesary.
