Just weeks after being one of a pair of canine celebrities at a St. Thomas Police Service open house, PSD Axle will retire after a seven-year career.
His spot on the K-9 roster is being assumed by newly sworn-in PSD Rocky.
Axle has an impressive resume of bad characters he and handler Const. Sean James have brought to justice.
Axle, who joins PSD Trax in retirement – will spend his golden years with Const. James.
Police Chief Marc Roskamp observed Axle has – quote – “charmed everyone at many community events.”
He continued, “We wish Axle a happy life as a family pet as he transitions to his new lifestyle.”
