A traffic stop on Edward Street has resulted in the arrest of a 43-year-old London man. In the early hours of the morning around 5 a.m. Thursday (July 11), St. Thomas Police Service officers pulled over a vehicle that was going at a high rate of speed. Upon speaking to the driver, officers suspected that the man may have been under the influence of alcohol.
The 43-year-old was issued a roadside screening test where he registered a fail. The male was taken into custody and transported to the police station where breath samples were taken. The breath samples indicated that the male was more than twice over the legal limit.
The male was charged with Operation While Impaired-Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus. The 43-year-old London man was released on a Promise to Appear in Court.
