It’s an exciting day for the kids of St. Thomas and Elgin County, with trick-or-treating being top of mind.
As the community prepares for tonight’s Halloween festivities, you are reminded of all that will be participating.
While not all units will have candy, tenants of local apartments buildings will often gather in the lobby to hand out treats of their own.
If you live near a retirement or long term care home, residents and staff tend to take part as well. Not only will the kids get some extra candy but the residents benefit from a friendly visit.
This includes at Valleyview Home in St. Thomas (350 Burwell Road), where residents will be handing out candy on Halloween from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the front of the building.
Local Fire Departments, EMS and Police Services may also be handing out treats, should they not be called out to an emergency. This includes in Aylmer, where the Fire Department will be hosting Hall-O-Ween beginning at 6 p.m.
And of course, local businesses and shopping centres love to get in the Halloween spirit. Stop by any participating stores, including during the Elgin Centre’s Malloween event.
