For the second time in as many days, a St. Thomas Police officer has been assaulted while attempting to arrest an individual.
Wednesday evening, officers responded to a call where an 18-year-old left their residence after stealing a quantity of beer.
They were in violation of a curfew and probation order.
The teen was located in the 500-block of Talbot Street where they punched an officer in the face while kicking at and spitting on others.
They were charged with:
- Five counts of failure to comply with probation
- Resist peace officer
- Assault peace officer
- Theft under $5,000
- Person under 19 years old having liquor
The accused was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance.
