The stars were out in the city Thursday night as the 45th annual St. Thomas Sports Spectacular returned to the St. Anne’s Centre.
Among the head table guests was Buffalo Bills Hall of Famer Thurman Thomas, who spent 12 seasons with the team and won an MVP title during his time there.
As the Bills get set to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship, myFM had to take the opportunity to talk to him about the big game this Sunday.
Noting something about this year gives him a different feeling.
In recent years, the Chiefs have defeated the Bills twice in AFC Divisional playoff games, and once in the AFC Championship game in 2020.
The Bills defeated the Chiefs earlier this season to end their hopes of an undefeated season. The scene for Sunday however is much different – the game will be played in Kansas City instead of Buffalo, and with much colder temperatures.
Thurman says this is when you as players have to show up and give your best, because the fanbase deserves it.
The Bills are no stranger to the Super Bowl in their history, having infamously lost four in a row in the 1990s – Buffalo teams that included Thomas.
We’ll see how it all plays out, with kick-off set for 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 26th.
