Elgin-Middlesex-London MPP Jeff Yurek has announced that the Ontario Government will be investing over 2 million dollars into The Thames Valley District School Board to help with math support for both students and parents.
The support program is a part of a 4 year math strategy that focuses on the fundamental math concepts and skills, and how students can apply them. The Thames Valley District School Board will be receiving $2,239,000 as part of the $55-million Ontario wide investment. The math strategy will help to ensure that students are prepared for success in the classroom and in their future, as well as making sure parents and families are confident and equipped to support their kids.
The Ontario Government will also be investing $6 million for summer initiatives throughout the province where parents and students can utilize it through a three week, math focused Summer Learning Program for students in Kindergarten to Grade 5 . This will help students who require additional support to have greater success during the regular school year.
