The 2025 St. Thomas Polar Plunge was a splashing success Tuesday, as participants got “Freezin’ For A Reason” in support of Special Olympics Ontario.
Taking over Railway City Brewing from 4 to 5 p.m., the local event saw a record number of “plungers” this year, who helped almost double the fundraising goal.
Participates included members of the St. Thomas Police Service, Aylmer Police Service, St. Thomas Fire Department and some dedicated Special Olympics athletes.
At this time, $9,651 has been raised, however organizers shared that the local donation page will stay live until April.
All proceeds from the Polar Plunge will be channeled into providing vital programming and events for Special Olympic athletes across Ontario.
