A follow-up to an OPP story on myFM from last month.
Around 4:30 on April 29, Elgin OPP responded to a break and enter in progress at a Bush Line residence involving four masked individuals with a gun.
One person was arrested at the scene and two others the following day. They were located by the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE).
On April 30, the Elgin County Crime Unit, Elgin-Middlesex Community Street Crime Unit, Oxford Community Street Crime Unit. West Region Emergency Response Team and West Region Canine Unit executed search warrants at a Bush Line address and a St. Thomas address.
Police seized two handguns, one conducted energy device, five pellet guns and two butterfly knives. They also seized large quantities of cocaine (crack, powder), oxycodone, hydromorphone, and clonazepam, with an estimated street value of $21,600 along with a quantity of property including scales, cellular phones, packaging (bags, elastics), and $4,500 in Canadian currency.
Three individuals were arrested:
A 35-year-old male from St. Thomas was charged with:
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition
- Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine)
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Opioid other than Heroin)
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Opioid other than Heroin)
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Opioid other than Heroin)
A 39-year-old female from St. Thomas was charged with:
- Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized of an Imitation Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Unauthorized possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine)
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Opioid other than Heroin)
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Opioid other than Heroin)
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Opioid other than Heroin)
The OPP also charged a 33-year-old male from Ingersoll with:
- Failure to comply with release order
- Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
