Belmont is gearing up to celebrate Canada’s 158th birthday with a full day of family fun on July 1st.
New this year, the festivities begin at 10:30 a.m. with an Auxiliary OPP Bicycle Safety & Obstacle Course in the Belmont LCBO parking lot.
The always-popular Decorated Bicycle Parade will follow at 11:30 a.m., making its way from the LCBO to the Belmont Community Centre, led by the Belmont Firefighters Association.
After the parade, head to the Don Yeck Park Pavilion at 12 p.m. for a BBQ lunch—just $3 per person, including a hot dog, chips, and drink.
From 12 to 2 p.m., enjoy free Canada Day cake, face painting, and balloon artists at the pavilion.
The celebration wraps up with a spectacular fireworks display at dusk in Don Yeck Park.
In case of rain, the fireworks will be rescheduled to Wednesday, July 2nd.
Events are made possible through support from the Government of Canada and various local groups, including the Belmont Lions, Belmont Swans, and Belmont Firefighters Association.
