A 31-year-old Aylmer woman is back behind bars after breaching her court-ordered release conditions for the second time in three days.
Tamara Clark was arrested by Aylmer Police on Friday, July 18th, after allegedly violating her release terms and resisting arrest. Officers also seized 19.8 grams of Fentanyl at the time. She was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody.
Clark was initially charged on May 25th with uttering threats toward her landlord. Her release included strict conditions—no contact with the victim and no presence near their property. However, police say she breached those terms on July 15th and was arrested again, this time also charged with possession of Cocaine, Crystal Meth, and Fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.
She was released on consent of the Crown and courts—only to be re-arrested three days later.
Aylmer Police Chief Kyle Johnstone called the situation “troubling,” citing concerns over public safety and the justice system’s ability to keep repeat offenders off the streets.
“These releases and the resulting re-victimization effects are felt exponentially in a small community,” Johnstone said. This cycle not only undermines public safety, but it also erodes the confidence of our citizens in the justice system. Our officers are doing their part every single day. However, we need the system as a whole to work in the interest of protecting the public.”
The Aylmer Police Service says it remains committed to community safety and continues to work with justice partners to address repeat offending.
