With the junior B hockey season fast approaching, the St. Thomas Stars are opening the doors for community members who want to get involved behind the scenes.
A Volunteer Open House is planned for Tuesday, August 26th at 6 p.m. at the Joe Thornton Community Centre, where attendees will be treated to pizza before getting the chance to learn more about the different volunteer opportunities available.
Those interested will also get the chance to test out a role during that night’s pre-season game.
The Stars are looking for game-day volunteers to help with front gate admissions, merchandise sales, 50/50 tickets, fan experience support, and even social media content creation.
Volunteers must be at least 14 years old (18+ for some roles) and available for at least half of the team’s home games. Most games take place on Friday evenings, with a few scheduled for Wednesdays and Sundays.
Applicants are encouraged to RSVP for the event by emailing volunteers.stthomas@gmail.com.
