A flag-raising ceremony was held at St. Thomas city hall on Monday morning to mark September as Big Brothers Big Sisters Month.
Mayor Joe Preston was on hand to read the official proclamation, highlighting the life-changing impact mentoring has on young people and the community.
Members of city council, St. Thomas police and fire, along with community supporters, joined the team at Big Brothers Big Sisters St. Thomas-Elgin, who look to “Turn the Town Teal” in support of youth mentorship this September.
Executive Director Carolyn Johnson, took some time to share a few words and stressed the need for volunteers is greater than ever.
