A driver of a motorcycle has been taken to hospital following a serious collision this morning outside of Aylmer. The Elgin County OPP responded to a call around 7:40 this morning (July 23) in relation to a collision between a motorcycle and a tractor trailer at Putnam Road and Lyons Line.
The motorcycle was said to be traveling westbound towards St. Thomas when the tractor trailer that was turning left onto Putnam Road collided.
The driver of the motorcycle was airlifted to hospital where he remains in life threatening condition. The cause of the collision has not yet been determined and the Technical Collision Investigators will be arriving on scene.
Putnam Road and Lyons Line was closed for much of the day for the investigation but has since reopened. Stay tuned to myFM for updates on the situation when and if they become available.
