A Vienna man is facing several charges after being stopped by Aylmer Police for impaired driving last week.
Police say around 11:18 p.m. on September 17, an officer conducted a traffic stop on Talbot Street West. It was determined the 32-year-old driver was prohibited from operating a vehicle and had been drinking alcohol.
He was given a roadside test, which he failed, and further breath tests at the St. Thomas Police Service confirmed his blood-alcohol level was more than 2.5 times the legal limit.
A search of the vehicle also uncovered a quantity of open alcohol.
As a result, the driver was charged with impaired operation (80 plus), operation while prohibited, six Highway Traffic Act offences, and driving while under suspension.
His vehicle was impounded for 45 days, and he has been released with a future court date.
