Southwestern Public Health has unveiled a new five-year strategic plan that aims to strengthen health equity, innovation, and organizational resilience across the region.
The 2025–2029 Strategic Plan was developed with extensive community and staff input, charting the agency’s direction through three key priorities: population health, service excellence, and organizational resilience.
“It is the role of the Board of Health to set the course for the organization through a strategic plan,” said Bernia Martin, Chair of the Board of Health. “With strong input from staff and the community, we are proud to approve a plan that reflects local priorities.”
CEO Cynthia St. John called the plan “five years, three priorities, and one vision for a healthier, more vibrant community,” emphasizing its focus on shared values and the needs of residents.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ninh Tran said the strategy will help the organization act with both “agility and long-term purpose” as it continues to respond to evolving public health challenges.
The plan, now being implemented across departments, can be viewed on Southwestern Public Health’s website.
