St. Thomas Native Josh Niles has been selected to Team Ontario for the upcoming Baseball Canada Cup in Regina, Saskatchewan. The 17 year-old Niles who plays first and third base was selected to the 20 man roster out of the 300 players that tried out for the team.
Niles and team Ontario will play against the other provinces under 17 teams in the tournament from August 7th – 11th.
Niles says that he’s looking forward to the tournament.
Niles says that he’s excited to be selected to the team with his Great Lakes Canadians teammate Kieran Pook. Niles says that his baseball goals are to make the Junior National Team and to hopefully earn a baseball scholarship to a school in the United States.
