Last year’s spooktacular haunted house event hosted by Community Living Elgin was such a success, it is back bigger and better this year.
Residents and staff have turned the front and back yards at their home at 62 West Avenue in St. Thomas into haunted habitats in honour of Halloween.
Michelle Crocker, a direct support professional explains the residents of the home contributed creatively to the creepy landscapes.
And this year’s display has special meaning with the recent loss of a long-time resident, explains Crocker.
While admission is free, visitors are encouraged to drop off a donation for the Christmas Care initiative this year.
Crocker explains the dispay is all part of integrating the residents into the community as much as possible and presenting them with opportunities.
Assisting with their vision where all people can live, work and achieve their full potential. Where every person is treated with compassion, dignity and respect; and is supported and encouraged to make choices that affect their personal lives.
The display is this Friday and Saturday and Tuesday through Friday next week from 6 to 10 p.m.
You can also drop off donations of non-perishable food items and toys for this year’s Christmas Care campaign at 62 West Ave. in St. Thomas.
