Chair of the St. Thomas Elgin Chapter of Jumpstart and Administrative Director of the Canadian Tire in St. Thomas France Viola is preparing for a 7 day trek in the Yukon Territory to raise funds for Jumpstart. The “Partcon Trek” featuring Canadian Tire Partners will take place from July 27 – August 2.
The trek will begin in Whitehorse and involve hiking a mountain, multiple trails with high elevations, visits to Kluane National Park and hot springs. The trek may also include a canoe trip on the Yukon River.
The vision statement for the trek involves physically and emotionally challenging themselves to bring them outside of their comfort zone to honour the kids in Jumpstart who face challenges and adversity each day.
The goal of the team is $150,000. France has raised more than $8,500 of her $10,000 goal. All of the funds raised from France’s trek will go to the local St. Thomas Elgin chapter of Jumpstart.
