Local hockey fans are in for a treat on Saturday, November 8, as the St. Thomas Stars host a special Joe Thornton Tribute Game at the Joe Thornton Community Centre.
The St. Thomas native and former Stars player is set to return to his hometown rink to drop the ceremonial puck before the 7:00 p.m. game- a celebration of his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Gates open at 6 p.m., giving fans time to grab a $3 game program, featuring a dedication to Thornton and chances to win prizes or take part in a centre-ice shoutout contest during the first intermission.
In addition, attendees can purchase 50/50 tickets, Stars merchandise, and raffle tickets for the Hat Trick Hockey Bundle, which includes a signed retro jersey, London Knights tickets, and hockey gear. The raffle draw will take place at the end of the second intermission.
Tickets for the game can be secured in advance at the arena box office on November 4th and 6th from 4:30-6 p.m.
Cost is $12 each, and tickets are required for everyone over the age of 5 years old. Cash, debit, or credit will be accepted.
