The Elgin Business Resource Centre is preparing for their 5th annual “The Pitch” business plan competition this fall. The competition formally called Enterprise Elgin sees residents and businesses submit a business plan with the hopes of being selected into the top 5.
The top 5 plans then present to a Dragon’s Den style panel of judges all vying for the top prize of around $10,000 in cash and in kind services.
EBRC General Manager Kevin Jackson says that the program is successful as even those who don’t win create strong businesses.
Jackson says that this year the competition will be open to all residents and businesses in St. Thomas and Elgin County. The submissions will be accepted from September 3rd – November 1st with the Dragon’s Den finale night happening on November 20th at the at the St. Thomas -Elgin Public Art Centre.
