Aylmer Police say a student was taken to the hospital as a precaution on Wednesday morning after being struck by a school bus at a downtown intersection.
Emergency crews were called to Wellington Street and Talbot Street around 8:50 a.m. on December 4. Police say the youth was crossing the road when a school bus turned from Talbot onto Wellington and clipped the pedestrian’s shoulder, causing minor injuries.
The youth was assessed in hospital and later released.
Following the investigation, police charged the driver of the bus, a 73-year-old Aylmer woman, under the Highway Traffic Act with failing to yield to a pedestrian.
