Talbot Street remained closed in both direction Friday morning along with several surrounding streets, including Mondamin, Hiawatha, Curtis and St. Catharine streets.
This is the result of a fire that broke out early Thursday morning in the 500 block of Talbot Street.
Known as the Central Block dating back to 1882, it housed Lucky Kitchen Restaurant and Crazy Joe’s Gym.
Yurek Pharmacy located next door is part of a separate block of buildings.
Chief Fire Prevention Officer Kim Destun updated myFM on the situation.
Destun said all apartment residents made it out safely.
At least three people were treated in hospital, but none of the injuries were serious.
A donation drive has been set up at Msgr. Morrison Catholic Elementary School to assist the family of one of the students impacted by the fire.
Gift cards can be dropped off at the school office until 3:30 p.m. today (Friday).
