As was the case last week in St. Thomas, ailing and dead birds are being reported in several areas of Port Stanley.
Most notably the harbour area.
A notice from the Municipality of Central Elgin advises while the cause of death has not been confirmed, municipal staff are working closely with wildlife control services and other partners to monitor the situation and respond as needed.
Staff are cautioning people not to touch or get too close to sick geese and keep children and pets away from dead birds.
This weekend, report sick or dead birds to the municipality at 519-631-4860.
As of Monday (Jan. 5), call the Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative at 1-866-673-4781.
