Caregivers across St. Thomas and Elgin County are being invited to get moving, connect, and support one another through a Caregivers Walking Group launching this winter.
Hosted by VON Middlesex-Elgin, the program offers caregivers a chance to enjoy light exercise while building social connections in a welcoming, supportive environment.
Participants can come on their own or bring along the loved ones they care for.
Walks will take place every Tuesday morning at 10:30 at the Joe Thornton Arena upper track, with lockers and washrooms available, and every Thursday morning at 11 at the Elgin Centre’s Metro entrance.
The initiative is part of VON’s broader Caregiver Support Groups, which provide access to resources, education, and peer support. Caregivers can learn practical strategies, share experiences, and focus on their own well-being while supporting others.
