A 43-year-old man from Nipissing, Ontario, has been charged after an impaired driving incident in Aylmer on January 17th.
Police say a concerned citizen called around 2:30 p.m to report that a vehicle nearly struck her, with the driver visibly consuming alcohol. Officers later located the vehicle on Centennial Avenue and arrested the driver.
Further investigation revealed the man was already prohibited from driving in Canada due to previous impaired convictions. He now faces charges of impaired operation, operation while prohibited, and driving with a blood-alcohol level over 80.
The vehicle has been impounded for 45 days, and the accused has been released on an appearance notice with a future court date.
