St. Thomas Police are again warning residents and businesses about counterfeit bills in circulation.
Monday evening officers responded to a local business after a customer paid with a bill that was confirmed to be counterfeit.
City police are reminding of the need to remain vigilant when accepting cash.
Counterfeit bills may appear genuine, but often lack standard security features such as raised ink, clear printing, and embedded security elements.
If you believe you have received counterfeit currency, do not return it into circulation, instead, contact the St. Thomas Police Service.
